Joel Patton

Joel has established his own signature. His faces jugs draw on anatomical study: Joel reportedly studied the human skull to understand underlying structure (teeth, eye sockets, jawlines), to better sculpt realistic or purposefully distorted faces. 

He works with clay, glaze; sometimes embeds mixed media (in earlier pieces, his workshop used broken doll parts, shards of porcelain, glass, etc. for eyes or embellishments) in some of the more elaborate collage-like pieces.
