Joel Patton 6.25" Devil of Scurrile Complots #12 Face Jug DP6510
This devil face jug by Joel Patton combines a traditional horned face with an animated, individual expression. Two short dark horns rise above arched brows and pale eyes, while a prominent nose and slightly open smile lend the face a sly, conversational quality.
Warm brown glaze covers much of the vessel, interrupted by cream-colored runs and darker accents around the features. The surface varies from glossy to visibly textured, adding depth to the shoulders and neck. A loop handle and incised lettering (The devil of Scurrile Complots #12) on the back provide further details to explore, making this an engaging piece for collectors of Southern face jugs.
This piece is 6.25" tall, about 5" wide and has a 3" base.
