Ali Burnette is a professionally trained ceramic artist whose work bridges contemporary ceramic sculpture, vintage Americana, and functional object making. She earned a BA in Ceramics from LaGrange College and an MFA in Ceramic Sculpture from Western Carolina University, and currently teaches 3D Forms courses as an adjunct professor at the University of North Georgia.
Working primarily in porcelain casting slip, Burnette transforms nostalgic forms through the use of vintage plaster molds from the 1970s and 1980s alongside molds she creates herself. Her practice explores the relationship between nature, memory, and discarded domestic objects, reimagining nonfunctional or forgotten forms into sculptural works with renewed presence and purpose.
