This face jug by Travelers Rest, South Carolina potter Joel Patton pairs a sculpted expression with a richly varied surface. Pale eyes sit within dark surrounds beneath a pronounced brow, while a long nose, large ears, and slightly parted lips give the face its distinctive character.
