Greg Patton 9" Face Vessel w/Salt & Pepper Shakers DP6288

This imaginative Greg Patton face vessel with matching salt and pepper shakers blends Southern folk pottery, functional design, and sculptural storytelling into a single cohesive work. The centerpiece is a large face vessel finished in a flowing sea-green glaze, featuring elongated eyes, a carefully modeled mouth, and a decorative scalloped rim. Extending from either side are integrated display shelves, designed to hold the accompanying miniature face jug shakers.

The matching shakers bring additional personality to the composition. One is a horned devil-like character finished in a rich brown glaze, while the other features a lighter alkaline glaze and a playful expression. When displayed on their shelves, the three figures create a conversation between characters, transforming an everyday tabletop object into a work of contemporary folk art.

Inspired by the traditions of Southern face jugs and Edgefield pottery, Patton elevates the familiar salt and pepper set into a highly collectible sculptural ensemble. Whether displayed in a kitchen, pottery collection, or folk art setting, the piece demonstrates the artist's ability to combine craftsmanship, humor, and historical influence in a uniquely Southern form.

Vessel measures 9" tall, about 12" wide across the handles/platform and has a 5" base with a 6" top opening. The shakers are 3" tall.
