Tim Whitten 5" Cigar Dude DP6148 SOLD

Tim Whitten is a self taught potter (now living in AL) who began by making functional wares like bowls and birdhouses in 2010 before quickly making a shift to face jug pottery. Many of his pieces draw inspiration from traditional American folk pottery with an emphasis on face jug pottery. 

This smoking face jug captures a quieter, more contemplative personality through simplified forms and restrained expression. The earthy matte surface and subtle firing variation give the jug a weathered appearance, while the cigar adds a touch of humor and attitude. Minimalist compared to Whitten’s more exaggerated works, the elongated nose, hollowed eyes, and understated features create a strong folk-art presence rooted in character and storytelling.

This piece is 5" tall, about 4" wide and 2.5" base.
