Mister 8 12x23 Colonel Saunders on Cabinet Door WP6551

South Carolina folk artist Mr. 8 pays tribute to another familiar American icon with this colorful portrait of Colonel Harland Sanders, the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Dressed in his signature white suit, black string tie and glasses, the Colonel stands holding his familiar red-and-white bucket of fried chicken and a dark briefcase. A vibrant lime-green background, rich red border and bold black outlines give the composition Mr. 8's distinctive folk-art character. With its expressive brushwork and playful proportions, the painting transforms one of America's most recognizable advertising personalities into a charming piece of contemporary Americana.

This piece measures 12" wide and 23.5" long. Acrylic on wood cabinet door.
