Mister 8 19x43 Table Top Beam Painting WP6250

Painted on a repurposed old tabletop, this tall work by Mr. 8 depicts a bottle of Jim Beam Bourbon in the artist's direct, graphic folk-art style. The bottle rises against a muted blue background above a painted wood-grain surface, while a long black shadow adds drama to the composition. The reclaimed tabletop is an important part of the piece, giving the work the found-material character associated with Southern self-taught art.
