Crazy Shit is a hand-built ceramic bust that pairs bold surface pattern with blunt language. The colorful head rises from a rounded base bearing raised lettering that reads “CRAZY SHIT,” setting the tone immediately.

Kiln-fired and finished in saturated glazes, the surface is alive with checkerboard patterning, dots, stripes, and layered color. The exaggerated facial features and graphic treatment give the piece a raw, expressive presence.

As with much of Hetherington’s work, the sculpture uses humor and direct wording to reflect on human behavior and modern chaos. The phrase functions as both commentary and release—capturing frustration, absurdity, and emotional overload in a single statement.
