Marvin Bailey 11" Crying Eyes Devil Vase DP6541

This dramatic crying eyes face vase by South Carolina folk potter Marvin Bailey features an elongated form with a deeply sculpted face and an enormous open mouth. Heavy brows, pointed ears, and prominent teeth create an intense expression, while thick white glaze runs descend from the eyes and mouth, giving the piece its unmistakable crying eyes character.

A striking combination of mottled blue/black and warm golden-yellow glaze covers the tall vessel, creating a richly textured, almost weathered appearance. The flared rim and small applied handles complete the sculptural form. Bold, expressive, and unmistakably Southern, this vase demonstrates Bailey's ability to transform traditional face jug imagery into a dramatic contemporary folk art statement.

Measures 11" tall, about 7" wide and with a 4" base and a 3" top opening.
