Stanley Ferguson 1113" Character with a hat DP6484

This figural pottery piece by Stanley Ferguson depicts a wide-eyed man wearing a glossy black hat, bright orange shirt, and cobalt blue overalls. Heavy eyebrows, a mustache, exposed teeth, and a long, textured beard give the face its animated expression. The back reveals carefully incised hair gathered into a ponytail and modeled overall pockets. His hands meet around a small sculpted object at his waist, adding another detail to this engaging example of Gillsville, Georgia, folk pottery. He says this is not a self portrait, but it sure looks a lot like him.

This piece measures 15" tall with the hat, 13.25" without. About 6.5" wide. Base is 4.25". We'll include some museum wax so you can position the hat the way you like it without worrying about it accidently being knocked off.
