Kubale Japanese Bird Song DP1705

Nancy Kubale is a full-time ceramic and mixed media artist living 50 miles southeast of Asheville in the foothills of Rutherford County, NC. She earned her BFA in Mixed Media from Minneapolis College of Art and Design. In addition, she studied clothing construction at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NY, ceramics at Penland School of Craft, and sculpture at Florence Academy of Art. While a student, she worked front of house at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, and later worked several years in New York, Massachusetts and North Carolina as a costumer in theater and dance.

"My mixed media figures begin with hand building techniques in stoneware clay. I use a variety of finishes that include underglaze, latex and prismacolor. I frequently assemble them with both found and sculpted objects that further the message." - Nancy Kubale-Wicker

Japanese Bird Song is a new technique for Nancy. This is meant to be hung on the wall. It's a combination of a wood frame covered with pottery. Measures 7" x 7".  A great way to begin your Nancy Kubale collection.
