Dal Burtchaell 11.5" Stacked Cigar Chomping Face w/Jug on Head DP6359

Georgia potter Dal Burtchaell gives this sculptural face jug an imaginative stacked composition. A wide-eyed figure emerges above the larger cigar-smoking face. Applied ears, expressive features and a looping handle add dimension to the rounded form. Flowing blue, white and dark brown glazes create a richly mottled surface that changes around the vessel. This distinctive piece reflects Burtchaell’s playful approach to traditional Southern folk pottery.
