Breezy 8" Vietnam Story Jug DP6403
This powerful story jug by Georgia folk artist Dale "Breezy" Ellis pays tribute to those who served during the Vietnam War. The hand-built stoneware vessel features a map of Vietnam marked with key locations including Hanoi, Laos, Cambodia, Hue, and the DMZ, while the inscription, "We all go to Vietnam, we spend months... some gave all,"reflects the sacrifices and lasting impact of military service.
The reverse displays a sculpted Vietnam Service Medal, while the surface is overlaid with a subtle military-style grid pattern reminiscent of topographical maps. Together, these elements transform a traditional Southern jug into a moving narrative honoring courage, remembrance, and those who never returned home.
Ellis's combination of sculptural relief, carved lettering, and symbolic imagery creates a deeply meaningful work that resonates with veterans, military families, and collectors of contemporary Southern folk art.
