Georgia folk potter Bo Thompson brings humor and personality to this colorful figural owl jug. The wide-eyed bird wears textured blue overalls accented with sculpted buttons, pockets and straps, while vivid red wings and feather tufts contrast with its turquoise body and yellow beak. A curled handle and projecting rear spout complete the vessel form. Thompson’s expressive modeling, incised surfaces and bright glazes give the piece the cheerful character associated with his contemporary Southern folk pottery.
