Bo Thompson 3.25" Orange/Red Bird DP6409

Georgia folk potter Bo Thompson gives this round orange/red bird an oversized personality through bulging eyes, a speckled yellow beak and deeply modeled wings and tail feathers. Peach-colored feet peek from beneath the plump body, while an opening at the back adds a vessel-like form. The rich orange/red glaze and exaggerated features reflect Thompson’s playful approach to contemporary Southern folk pottery.
