Billy Joe Craven 8.75" Billy Goat Face Jug DP6470

This imaginative figural jug by Gillsville, Georgia potter Billy Joe Craven features an elongated billy goat face with a broad snout, oversized ears, small horns, and a sculpted beard beneath the mouth. Craven incorporates the traditional jug opening and handle directly into the animal form, giving the piece a strong sculptural presence from every angle.

A warm brown glaze covers the neck, handle, and horns, contrasting with the softly mottled gray and cream glaze of the face and body. Expressive glass eyes add another layer of personality. Playful and unconventional, the piece demonstrates Craven's distinctive approach to transforming traditional Southern pottery forms into character-filled folk sculpture.

This piece is 8.75" tall, about 8.55" wide and with a 4" base.

Ships for $22. Because of the high shipping cost, pottery does not ship outside the continental USA.
