Ben Wilson 7" Face Jug w/Drip Glaze DP6392
This expressive face jug by young Georgia potter Ben Wilson features an elongated face brought to life with deeply sculpted eyes, a prominent rounded nose, large applied ears, and a slightly parted mouth. A striking blue glaze flows vertically over the surface, breaking over areas of green and earthy brown and emphasizing the contours of the facial features. The heavy glaze movement gives the jug a wonderfully aged, almost weathered character.
An applied handle and traditional jug form connect the piece to the long history of Southern face jug pottery, while Wilson’s exaggerated features and distinctive glazing give it a personality all its own. A strong example of a new generation carrying Georgia’s folk pottery tradition forward.
Measures 7.5" tall, about 7" wide, and has a 4" base.
Ships for $18 with tracking and insurance. Does not ship outside the continental USA.
