I am Rik Long. Painting has always been part of my life. Growing up in the studio of my father, folk artist Woodie Long, I watched colour, form and story unfold. But early on, I knew I had to find my own voice. That’s why I paint the cities and the people, the bible scenes and the everyday roosters: a world that is familiar, honest, sometimes playful — and always mine.

My work is rooted in story. Whether it’s a bustling street scene under acrylic skies, or a quiet rooster standing watch, I want the viewer to feel the presence, the characters, the moment. I’m drawn to the energy of the urban and the folk, the sacred and the simple.
