This handcrafted bottle cap bird by Burnsville artist John D. Richards transforms everyday bottle caps and reclaimed materials into a charming work of folk art. Featuring a golden-toned surface built from carefully layered bottle caps, a sleek metal beak, and expressive found-object details, the sculpture demonstrates Richards' remarkable ability to bring personality and movement to recycled materials. Mounted on a simple wooden base, the piece combines humor, craftsmanship, and environmental creativity. Each Richards sculpture is unique, reflecting his decades-long practice of creating imaginative assemblages from bottle caps, wire, metal fragments, and other salvaged objects.

This piece is 13" tall, 22" from beak to tail on a 3.5" x 9.75" x 1" wood base. Bottle caps are arranged over a wood foundation.
