Randy Tobias 16" Antler Devil Face Jug DP6341

This extraordinary face jug by North Carolina folk artist Randy Tobias blends traditional Southern folk pottery with found natural materials to create a powerful and unforgettable sculptural form. Featuring a hand-sculpted face with piercing red eyes, incised tear-like markings, a textured beard, and an expressive mouth, the jug is crowned with a dramatic pair of mounted antlers that transform the piece into a mythical, woodland-inspired figure.

Finished in layered green earth-tone glazes with contrasting orange accents around the neck, the vessel evokes the spirit of a forest guardian, mountain creature, or folkloric devil. Tobias is known for creating pottery that celebrates individuality and imagination, and this piece is a prime example of his ability to merge folk tradition with contemporary artistic expression.

The addition of authentic antlers elevates the work beyond a traditional face jug, making it a striking conversation piece and a standout example of Southern folk art pottery. Signed "Randy" on the reverse.

This piece is 16" tall (including the antlers), with the jug itself being 12" tall, about 8" wide and has a 5" base.
