Dale "Breezy" Ellis 8" Nurse "100 Proof" Folk Art Jug DP6558

Georgia folk potter Dale "Breezy" Ellis brings his signature humor and storytelling to this distinctive nurse-themed stoneware jug. The front features a beautifully sculpted and hand-painted vintage-style nurse with expressive blue eyes, rosy cheeks, and a traditional white cap adorned with a red cross.

A bold red cross on the side bears the inscription "100 PROOF," a playful reference to the jug's traditional association with spirits and moonshine. On the reverse, a bright red heart incorporates a winged medical caduceus, while the words "MEDICINAL PURPOSES ONLY" wrap around the base, completing Ellis's clever combination of medical imagery and Southern pottery humor.

With its warm earth-toned glaze, colorful relief decoration, and whimsical inscriptions, this piece reflects Ellis's imaginative approach to the Southern folk pottery tradition. A wonderful collectible for admirers of face jugs, medical memorabilia, and contemporary Southern folk art.
