Michael Banks is an artist from Alabama who knew from the time he was a child that he wanted to be an artist. A self-taught painter, Michael abandoned tradition on many levels and, in the process, succeeded in achieving a place in the wider world of contemporary American art.

This piece is 22" long, 6.25" across and 1" deep. The figure is carved by Michael from the wood he uses to display his work during a show. He mounted the figure on found wood and then framed it with more found wood.
