Through the years, Susan has sought out buttons from Paris to Shanghai, the New York Garment District to the New Orleans French Quarter. It is really the thrill of this hunt that keeps her going, and that has kept Grandmother’s Buttons, for all its growth and change, true to its original idea of transforming venerable old buttons into artistic one-of-a-kind jewelry. Through the years, company’s mantra has become: “honor the button.”
Every piece is handmade in the studios
located in the historic district of St. Francisville, La. Each piece is accompanied by a tag that indicates the era of the button(s) used and its composition.
Beelined Vintage Necklace
This is a great long cluster necklace with 2 vintage (ca. 1920-1950) buttons included - a rhinestone centered glass and casein (plastic). The button with the bee is almost 1.5" diameter. The cluster as a total length is almost 4". Necklace is 31" long. Closes with a lobster clasp. Great piece all by itself, or as a component in a layering effect.
It's really difficult to photograph a necklace of this length on a model with no lower body so, please, use your imagination...
