Martha designs and creates personal adornments that are organic and sculptural. She personally performs all of the creative aspects involved in the work. Each piece is hand-fabricated from sterling silver. Martha uses techniques such as forging, raising, and various surface embellishments to give the metal depth and texture. The finish is obtained by oxidizing the piece and then buffing it.
Three concave silver discs play host to pearls. Suspended at the end of silver wire. Total drop 2" on a 16" silver neck wire.
Photograph Note: I have found it somewhat difficult to photograph pearls
paired with silver in my curb side "studio". The white on white,
coupled with the light reflection makes the distinction between metal
and pearl a little fuzzy.
